Homework is assigned weekly and due that coming Friday. Student agendas/Reading Logs must also be signed daily. Homework and a signed agenda is an important element in the learning/responsibility process. The student will be responsible to adjust their dojo (our behavior system) for that day accordingly if their homework is not complete. A note will also be sent home after each missed homework assignment.
In my class, students will have spelling, vocabulary and reading (reading log) homework assignments. **Please note: The GREEN folder given at open house is the student’s homework folder. |
Spelling
Each week student's will receive new spelling words. There will be 20 words total. Each student was given the "Tic Tac Toe" homework activity. They are to complete at least THREE of the activities on it for Spelling.
Reading Log
Each student will be responsible to track their own reading at home in a daily reading log (which will be given to them weekly), and a parent signature after each night is crucial. I encourage you to have your child read for a minimum of 20-30 minutes each night. If your child does not have a book to read at home, he or she may sign out a book from our classroom library. This should be a fun time with you and your child. Reading logs are due that coming Friday as well.

Vocabulary
Every other week students will be assigned vocabulary words that we will work on throughout those two weeks. They will bring those words home and complete the "Tic Tac Toe" homework activity on it. At the end of the second week they will be tested on the words.
